I\u2019m Behnoush, a pharmaceutical scientist working at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard in Boston. In my day job, which I love very much, I work on early-stage drug discovery projects for diseases with unmet medical needs such as pediatric cancers or infectious diseases. I use techniques such as X-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy to resolve and visualize the structure of proteins and drug targets. This brings me to my second interest.<\/p>\n

As a kid I was always drawn to visual storytelling. My first exposure to illustrations which left a lasting impact on me was my favorite childhood book \u201cThe Little Prince\u201d by Antione de Saint-Exup\u00e9ry which contains original watercolor paintings done by the author himself. That simple painting of a boa constrictor swallowing an elephant is forever stuck with me.<\/p>\n
